In the LBPU, Union Refoundation Day, otherwise known as Union Day or just Refoundation Day, is an annual celebration of peace in unity for LBPU clans. It represents the Union's anniversary of instituting its new constitution on December 14th, 2013. As such the date of the holiday lies on December 14th of every year. Decorations are put up and speeches are generally made to recognize the date in its political importance, as well as the symbolic message it represents that clanning can be about something other than just fighting and bickering.

== Background ==
There has not been any official legislation that dictates the establishment of the holiday, but the movement to have it recognized was led by the Protectors in an attempt to create unity in the LBPU and spark more interest in its affairs.

=== 2014 ===
On Union Day 2014, Las Calles and the Union HQ were both decorated to celebrate. At a press conference held in a new location made to present the new functionality of the at the time under construction LBP3 headquarters, TME Mandalore MidnightLights10 and their representative TeamHeidi both gave speeches, as well as Union Vice President (NCR President) Lgmpm and Foreign Minister (NCR Vice President) CCSocaiGamer. There was also a parade held in Las Calles shortly after, and a brief announcement was made by President M88youngling for the festivities.

The message of the post-parade was that the meaning of clans had changed for the better, and was an attempt to gain community support for the Union.

Three levels will published, the Las Calles hub, the conference and the parade. All three levels made it to the lucky dip pages and attracted various non clanners who enjoyed the parade the most, likely due to its dynamics and lack of long speeches aimed more at the clanning community.

In 2015, the Union originally was not planning on making any Union Refoundation Day events due to President M88youngling being too busy. However, it was decided within 3 weeks prior to the date that they could consolidate the efforts of the Union to develop the events for the holiday. Vice President of the Union [[Lgmpm]], who is also the President of the [[New California Republic]] was selected in a Protector agreement to host the events in the Tandi Memorial Plaza in Shady Sands. The event featured a speech from Lgmpm and NCR Vice President / Union Foreign Minister [[CCSocaiGamer]]. Flags from the states of the Union were featured to represent them in the event. == Observance ==
While traditions have not had time to be made just yet, it is hoped for the holiday to be celebrated by most if not all member states. The first 2014 celebration of the holiday included several speeches, a parade, and a flag ceremony.

The Remnants Union and LBP Union War was the first official armed conflict of the reformed LBP Union in 2014. The flamewars lasted several months and resulted in the LBPU being successful in their defense and the Remnants Union suffering a collapse in activity and in political influence.

==The Autobots (Pirate Dinosaur Alliance) Fiasco==
Days after the refounding fathers ratified the LBPU's new Constitution, President M88youngling was searching for new clans to join the Union. One of which that caught his eye was the Autobots, a moderately sized clan led by Prime Hoeflers4. President M88youngling sent a letter to their administration inviting them to join the LBPU as an independant state, and they initially agreed. However, Hoeflers4 neglected to inform the LBPU's administration that the Autobots were already a state of the Remnants Union, which was far more aggressive in keeping control over their states. President XFinal_IsaacX threatened the LBPU, saying that if a state were ever to leave the Union, military force would be employed. Isaac refused to allow the Autobots to leave the RU, however a vote in the PDA was still held on making the decision. The results of the vote are debatable, as it was rather unorganized due to the instability of the Autobots administration. President Isaac argued that the vote was open to all parties and that they won the vote, while the LBPU argues that there wasn't enough information and the PDA administration held authority, and their members also were not all properly informed on the vote either.

The Union Census Bureau was founded in the very beginning of the Union's refoundation to organize all state information in an easily accessible way. While there has never actually been a distinct director or members of this association, the Minister of Domestic Affairs is usually given charge of the program. == The Union Census ==
The census is a log of every clan presently in the Union, their leader, their representative, their population and other miscellaneous information. It totals up every union clan's population to find the grand total population of the Union, and then takes two thirds of this number to find the number of those people who must vote in order for a proposal to pass. The census typically is updated by President M88youngling whenever a clan joins the Union or when a representative or population update is found out.

Clans are organized by size, the largest being at the top and the smallest at the bottom. Clans higher than 10 members are considered 'developed' and clans under than 10 members are considered 'undeveloped.'

The Union Task Force [UTF] is a joint LBPU program which combines members of Union state military forces into one combined unit. It's members come from areas of varying doctrines and training, making the unit unpredictable. However their coordination makes them a very successful force. The UTF is employed for Counter-Troll Purposes, clan relief efforts, liberations and general defense of the Union. Union Protectors must vote for their use in specific purposes. They can automatically respond without vote if the Union is attacked. For example, if a troll was to harass Union members, the UTF could be mobilized quickly for an organized grief report counterattack to get the troll banned. Thus is how the UTF can be used to defend the Union from threats.

==History==
The Union Task Force was founded near the beginning of the LBPU in 2009 as a task unit of the best of the best in the Union. Commanded by MRLane1 from the H4H Bounty Hunters, the force saw little use except during one Online Create Battle engagement in the RSR War, dubbed the 'Battle of Twisted Forest,' which resulted in a loss for the UTF. After that, President Godman2k7 moved to produce more equipment for the UTF such as tanks, patrol boats and research experimental weapons such as the portable railgun. However, this was of little use against trolls who fought in other ways than simply competition. While interest in weapon development continued, it never contributed to the success of the Union in that era.

It is presumed that the UTF was mobilized against high priority H4H targets as well such as K00n3ss, however this was mainly a matter dealt with directly by the H4H Bounty Hunters.

After the Union collapsed in a schism in 2011, the Union Task Force was dissolved. The New Union adopted a similar task unit dubbed the Union Survival Operations (U.S.O) which was purely for Online Create Battle. It's presumed that the focus in this area is what caused the New Union to collapse, seeing as interest in OCB led to disinterest in politics and more in warfare, leading to the reformation of the Commando Recon Operations.

It was later in the reformation of the LBPU that the UTF was brought back to life in late 2013. It participated in several operations during the RU Flamewars and months later was truly reformed in December of 2014 to respond to recent troll threats.

== Organization ==
The Union Task Force is small, thus meaning that an advanced military ranking order is not very useful and would be counter-productive to its operations. Each member of the UTF has 'experience' (XP) which is attained by completing missions. Their performance in the mission will determine how much XP they receive from their commanding officer. Experience grants members ranks, which will increase their likelihood of being priority members of critical operations and possibly ascend to commanding ranks if leadership values are observed.

The UTF currently is organized into squads of four members. These squads have a designated officer commanding them. Above these squads is the UTF commander, who commands all aspects of the group. He receives objectives to complete from the Union Protectors, mainly the President and the Minister of Defense during a time of conflict. The Security Council can also order the UTF's use in the case of a liberation being passed.

Recruits are chosen selectively, and then given an informational book on what they will be doing in the UTF. At the end of the book, the recruits are required to fill out a short entrance exam. After submission, the recruit is then evaluated by the UTF. Correctly completing the test does not necessarily mean that they will be admitted to the UTF. The test is meant to clarify misconceptions the reader might have had. They may still be refused entry for any reason.
