For LBP Union team members, the NextCloud App is very helpful for a number of reasons:

  • It allows you to sync LBP Union files to your machine so you don't have to download them from the server.
  • You can edit files locally using software like LibreOffice or Microsoft 365 and changes will sync to UnionCloud
  • Desktop notifications

The app is available on Windows, MacOS, Android, and iOS.

It's okay to uncheck 'Ask for confirmation before synchronizing external storages'.

Authenticate your login

This works across all platforms.

  1. When installing the app, use the URL https://cloud.lbpunion.com
  2. When the app opens your browser to complete authentication, login with Authentik if necessary
  3. Allow the app to login with your account.

Desktop App

Select a directory to sync

You can select which folders you want to sync from UnionCloud

If you'd like to sync files between your machine and UnionCloud, select a file directory to use. It's recommended to use a local directory that doesn't require administrator access. For example:

C:\Users\[USER]\UnionCloud\

If you are able to sync a team folder, you may need to select it manually in the menu.

Open File Locally

If you are navigating UnionCloud via the web browser, you can open files locally by opening the hamburger menu (three dots) and clicking 'Open locally'. This will open the file in your operating system's default application for that file type. It only works when the NextCloud desktop app is running.

Usage

Desktop App

Windows

On Windows, the NextCloud app runs docked to your system tray. Click the carrot in the lower right-hand corner of your screen and find the NextCloud app to access your settings and notifications.

To access your files, use File Explorer to browse the directory where you have your files synced.
