This page aims to detail the structure of the LBP Union's team in the present day from 2021 onward.

Protectors

The Protectors are the historical administrative body of the LBP Union^[1]Currently, there are six protector seats, which are:

Lead Protector
Vice Protector
Minister of Technology
Minister of Security
Minister of Inspiration
Minister of Relations
Minister of Intelligence

On Discord, the role color is azure blue.

Ministry of Security

The LBP Union Ministry of Security focuses on the moderation of LBP Union platforms, particularly its Discord server and Beacon.

Peacekeepers

Main article: LBP Union Peacekeepers

Peacekeepers are the moderators of LBP Union's Discord server.

The Peacekeeper team has five hierarchical ranks, from highest to lowest.

Captain: administrator of the team
Senior Lieutenant: second in command
Lieutenant: experienced secondary leadership who handle case review and training
Officer: moderators with ban permissions
Deputy: trial moderators who can only warn and mute

Its team color is slightly light blue. The colors are shared with the Starguards.

Starguards

Main article: LBP Union Starguard

Starguard is the dedicated moderation team overseeing the Union's Project Lighthouse instance, Beacon. Starguard was established on November 14th 2022, replacing the joint task force between USC and the Peacekeeper team called Star Helix. Yuki-x64 is the current Starguard Captain.

There are five ranks as a Starguard.

Captain: administrator of the team
Senior Lieutenant: second in command
Lieutenant: experienced secondary leadership who handle case review and training
Sergeant: moderators with ban permissions
Specialist trial moderators who can only warn and mute

Its team color is light blue. The colors are shared with the Peacekeepers.

Ministry of Technology

Engineers (Research and Development)

Main article: Research and Development

The Research and Development team is LBP Union's dev ops and programming arm. They were initially founded to pioneer new technologies in the LittleBigPlanet community. The primary focus of the R&D team is to maintain Beacon and the Project Lighthouse repository.

The Research and Development team is composed of these ranks from highest to lowest:

Technician

Its team color is green.

Union Space Corps

Main article: Union Space Corps

The Union Space Corps was founded to beta test Project Lighthouse and has since evolved to become the Union's community support team for Beacon.

There are 7 ranks, the top 3 ranks are considered as team members while the rest does not.

Its team color is yellow.

Ministry of Relations

Scribes

Scribes are a team of translators and writers. Originally, the Scribe team was intended to be a creative team that would later become the Creative Works Administration. Reformed in October of 2022, they now provide written content and translations to LBPUnion.com articles and Project Lighthouse strings.

It has three ranks.

Lead Scholar
Scholar
Initiate

Its team color is red. The team is currently defunct, with several members serving as translators.

Ministry of Inspiration

The goal of the Ministry of Inspiration is to advance the creative interests and spirit of the LittleBigPlanet community through creative education, curation, and community engagement.

Creative Works Administration

The Creative Works Administration is responsible for choosing Beacon team picks, organizing and judging contests, and executing official creative projects for the Union. Its members are called 'advisors'. The role color is red.

Pathfinders

Pathfinders were community ambassadors of the Union.

They guided people for information, introduced people to LBP Union, and executed Discord events.

There were four ranks as a Pathfinder.

Captain
Ranger
Scout
Initiate

Its team color was orange.

Trivia

Ranger was previously the leading rank for the Pathfinders until the introduction of the 4th rank for each division of the ministry.

Ministry of Intelligence

The Ministry of Intelligence is responsible for the LBP Union's archival, data analysis, and OSINT operations.

LBP Union Archives

The LBP Union Archives, otherwise known as the LBP Union Wiki, aims to collect information about LittleBigPlanet and the community that can help advance the Union's objectives. For example, documenting historical events, providing information and documentation, as well as organizing official tutorials and guides.

Its team color is purple.

Union Task Force

Historically, the Union Task Force was the 'special forces' branch of the LBP Union. However, it was briefly activated during r/place 2022 and was successful with their operation which is known today as "Operation Arbor".^[2]

The Union Task Force technically wasn't a part of LBP Union's team. It was composed of participants of the r/place event on Reddit who represented the LittleBigPlanet community.

It had two ranks during r/place 2022.

Its team color were grey.

Global Relations Office

Originally founded as the Ambassador Team, the Global Relations Office is a deactivated team under Ministry of Relations. They would handle social media posts for LBP Union.

It had three ranks.

Its team color were cyan.

Star Helix (Ministry of Technology)

During Private Beta, the Union Space Corps and Peacekeeper team formed a joint task force to moderate early Beacon. Star Helix was composed of a select few Peacekeepers and all USC Starblazers. On November 15th, 2022, LBP Union Starguard was established, rendering Star Helix defunct.

Its team color was gold.
