User:Ezoiar/Wiki Operations

Greetings, this is the (proposed) Operation <name>. In this operation you will import files from the Fandom version of LBP Union Wiki to the newly created independent version of LBP Union Wiki. Unlike Operation Postal, it will be easier to execute but can potentially take longer?

Notes to know before you start

• Do not transfer audio files. We have Wikimedia Commons audio files that can cover for it.
• Be aware of copyright licenses (needs implementation first)
• If the image goes beyond the maximum limit of 50MB, you can either edit it/optimize it or ask for help at #Operation<name>
• Because of Wikimedia Commons, we may have an issue with conflicting file names. (FX. Blue_Flag.png and File:Time.png). This is untested so if the local file here overwrites it without any problems, you may continue uploading files with conflicting names.
• The Alternative route is faster but potentially requires a beefy PC?

The Operation

Step 1

Firstly, open a file on Fandom's version.

Open every file page on a single file gallery page by clicking on your middle mouse button instead of the left. This opens a new tab.

Step 2

If you hover your mouse around, you'll see details around the image. Click at a text that says "See full size image" and it will bring you to a fresh file.

On each file pages, click on "Original File" with the left mouse button.

Step 3

Copy by right clicking on the image and click on Copy Image. Alternatively you can also download it to a new folder in which you can mass dump files with. This step can be done on both methods.

Step 4

Go to the upload page and upload the file with the appropriate licensing and correct file name.
