Danke is a recurring icon that gained popularity in the early days of the LittleBigPlanet Union. It is usually interpreted to be a type of carbonated soft drink.

History

The logo for Danke, more accurately referred to as "Danke!" was part of the default stickers included in the original LittleBigPlanet game. The logo can be found as both a sticker and on a bottle cap under the 'wheels' section in the player's popit in create mode.[1] This yellow bottle cap inspired H4H Bounty Hunter and Agent TragicTakedown to create bottles and a vending machine. His idea soon spread throughout the Union and gained popularity. Danke has seen many cameos over the years.[2][citation needed]

Danke came in two main flavors designed by TragicTakedown, classic and cherry.[2]

After the schism, the original Danke vending machine was recovered and used in modern LBP Union headquarters levels. It has been used in the HQ from 2013, the LBP3 HQ from 2015,[citation needed] Las Calles North, and Keystone Tower (LBP2) from 2023.

Danke Chugging

With newer Danke vending machines, grabbing a dispensed bottle will award the player some points. This can be done indefinitely. Hard level champion Adsffff has several videos on his YouTube channel where he spends hours drinking Danke to claim the top spot on a leaderboard in LBP Union levels.

Urban Legends

There has been varying lore over the years regarding Danke's composition. In the old Union, there were jokes among members that drinking too much of it would cause extreme hyperactivity. Some believed that it would turn one's skin yellow in the process. Danke is generally seen as a soft drink.[2]
