Following the schism in 2011, the LittleBigPlanet Union split into two separate alliances. In former President Godman2k7's control was the Loyalist Union, which pursued the preservation of the old administration and values. The other alliance was a group of dissenters which believed that free elections should be held, and pursued blatant militarism. This alliance was known as the New Union.
History
The idea of the New Union originated from a short lived plot during one of the Union civil wars prior to the schism, which involved Betoboy_8 and M88youngling during one of the spats between the Agents and the Bounty Hunters. It was here that Betoboy helped design the Union Survival Operations, a tactical unit based on the Union Task Force, as well as help make the headquarters. The idea was abandoned and revived after the schism. Until then, the old New Union headquarters was utilized as a LBPU secondary headquarters, and was utilized for recruiting expansion.
Following establishment, tensions were high with the Loyalist Union. Faces that founded the New Union were ones such as M88youngling, Lukeskywalker156, and so on. Its member states included mostly the Commando Recon Operations and the Eagles.
Elections were held, although these were faced with apathy and as few as perhaps ten people voted in total. M88youngling won this election versus Lukeskywalker156 and became President of the New Union. This led to bitter tensions with the Loyalist Union, and New Union focus emphasized on the buildup of the Union Survival Operations. However, it began to be realized that the USO was being mostly made up of members from the Commando Recon Operations, and this led M88youngling to wonder about the participation of the New Union's member states. It was clear that they had outlived the Loyalist Union by this point, as most of their members had moved to Steam games such as Team Fortress 2 and abandoned LBP projects. Seeing the recent uprising of darker, cynical clans and the rise of the dark age of clanning, M88youngling scrapped the New Union and declared it defunct, staging a bombing of its capital city of Blankton as propoganda, turning to fully focus on the Commando Recon Operations.
The New Union consolidated into the CRO, and its organization was abandoned mere months after foundation.
