Danke is a recurring icon that gained popularity in the early days of the LittleBigPlanet Union. It is usually interpreted to be a type of carbonated soft drink.

History

The logo for Danke, more accurately referred to as "Danke!" was part of the default stickers included in the original LittleBigPlanet game. The logo can be found as both a sticker and on a bottle cap under the 'wheels' section in the player's popit in create mode. This yellow bottle cap inspired H4H Bounty Hunter and Agent TragicTakedown to create bottles and a vending machine. His idea soon spread throughout the Union and gained popularity. Danke gained many cameos, as well as many urban legend. It isn't known if TragicTakedown was aware that the name translated to "thank you" in German or not.

Danke came in two main flavors designed by TragicTakedown, those were the standard Danke and Cherry. Other flavors are believed to have been made but this is unconfirmed. The original cherry Danke vending machine is rare and believed to be lost.

After the schism, Danke machines were not found again until the refoundation of the Union in 2014. Its popularity was not as widespread as it was in the early days, but it still found its way into several cameos.

Urban Legends

The yellow soft drink that took the LBPU by storm quickly gained several theories regarding the mystery of what the drink was made out of. It was generally believed that a high consumption of the beverage would result in some form of temporary mania. Some believed that it would turn one's skin yellow in the process. Generally it is believed that Danke is either an energy drink, a soft drink or both, due to how it is marketed in vending machines.

Known Cameos

Danke has had many cameos over the years, appearing in various levels related to the Union. Two original Danke vending machines currently reside in the LBP2 and LBP3 Union me
