History of the Constitution
The LBPU Constitution started being written sometime in early December 2013, and was discussed over
several weeks by interested clan leaders. The only real issues anyone ever had with the original version of the Constitution was that it was originally written that only people ages 12 and over could be representatives. This was mainly opposed by Lone Wolf Dynasty on accounts that they were a clan composed of younger members and had little to choose from. The age was lowered to 10 after opposition from m88youngling.
On December 14th, the final founding father, Kazmord, ratified the document. It was then put into action
and the Union was officialy formed. Clan leaders were the ones to ratify the constitution. The founding fathers were considered some of the major influential people in the Union for some time.
Later, Lone Wolf Dynasty had many issues with the selection of a representative due to lack of
members. This is a problem that plagues various small clans in the Union today. I_Keel_You_2001, leader of LWD, suggested that the constitution be amended to allow leaders to be representatives. The rest of the protectors (he was Minister of Domestic Affairs at the time) opposed this on the goal of preventing autocracy within clans in the Union.
After Keel was forced out of the Union on grounds of treason, harassing Union members, bullying and
innapropriate behavior, he began to question why the Presidency has a lifetime term in the Union. The response to this is usually the same, being that the Presidency has little power and serves merely to represent the Union and organize for various purposes, as well as call Protectors together for executive votes such as the entry and kicking of clans or the removal of specific people from the Union. Any and all of these actions can be opposed by the General Assembly and if needed, the President can also be impeached.

Preamble
We most indubitably declare, that people such as ourselves deserve under the rights presented upon us, the right to organize under the freedom of assembly. The conflicts which unveil themselves that draw such assemblies apart can be overcome by assembling as one alliance. One Union. Through the pursuit of freedom, diplomacy, and peace, the Union will survive in its mission to bring harmony to LittleBigPlanet.
Article 1 - Legislation
Section 1:
All legislative powers hereby are controlled by the General Assembly and Security Council of the LBPU.
Section 2:
The General Assembly handles all legislative categories the Security Council does not cover. The General Assembly is composed of participating Union representatives.
Section 3:
The Security Council is also composed of participating Union representatives and handles the following,
Commendations- Awards of recognition for one individual or organisation's contributions to LBP.
Condemnations- Formal declarations to the world that an individual or clan has performed actions that have harmed LBP greatly. Neither this or commendations should be taken lightly.
Liberations- To instate Union controlled leadership in a clan in need to help it get back on its feet.
Section 4:
Each member state is required to submit one representative in order to be recognised by the Union. No representative shall be the leader of the clan they are representing, or be under the age of 10. Representatives have the right to participate freely in discussions concerning both the General Assembly and Security Council, submit legislative proposals, and endorse others' proposals so they may reach quorum.
Section 5:
Legislative process requires that there first is a proposal presented by a representative. This proposal must be endorsed by at least 5 representatives before it can move to quorum. Proposals in quorum are voted on in order of the time they reached quorum status. Then, members of the Union itself submit their votes to a level dedicated to the proposal. The votes are counted, and there must be a majority vote for it in two weeks in order for it to pass, or it will be declined and moved off the quorum floor to move on to other legislation. However, 3/4 of the Union's members must vote in order for it to count.
Section 6:
It is the duty of every member state to maintain order within their own clan. No member state may declare war on another Union state. No member state may harass or make hostile actions towards foreign or domestic states or individuals unless authorized by the General Assembly. No member state shall be discriminate against a certain group, whether it be a race, level of skill, rank, age, sex, or other. Member states may not allow their members to perform actions that degrade the purpose of the game itself, such as cheating for Playstation Trophies, "Heart for Hearting" or similar actions.
Article 2 - Executive Power
Section 1:
The Executive Power of the LBP Union is held by the President, who may hold his position for as long as he chooses, however he/she plays no role in the legislation of the Union, and any decision he/she makes may be overridden by a resolution in the General Assembly or a vote by all the other protectors. The President's job is to manage the government, keep everything in check, represent the entire Union itself to the LBP community, head defensive protocol, and organize the Union in time of crisis. The President may be impeached from office by the other protectors in a vote, but first there must be a resolution in the General Assembly passed to call this vote to being. The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the LBP Union, shall only be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.
Section 2:
The President has the power to create treaties and pacts with other foreign powers, appoint ambassadors for diplomacy with those foreign powers, (Provided that two thirds of the Protectors concur.) and appoint and manage government officials. Another Protector can only be removed from office if he/she resigns or if a majority vote from the other protectors and the president agree.

Trivia
- The only founding fathers actively involved in the Union anymore are m88youngling and Lgmpm. Kazmord occasionally makes propoganda for the Union.
- Keel and Soldier-Boy are the only founding fathers to be forced out of the Union for violating the constitution.
- After asking former President Godman for permission to reboot the Union, he said he didn't care, merely asking people do not message him about the old union.
