The Protectors are the historical executive body of the LittleBigPlanet Union responsible for upholding the Union's values and representing the members of the Union.
History
Old Union
Godman2k7 established the Protectors on August 27th, 2009 alongside his announcement to establish the LittleBigPlanet Union.[1] He appointed Leejk30 as the vice president, M88youngling as the Union's diplomat, and several other Protectors such as Kazmord and DELBOY_102. After the Union dissolved due to the schism in 2011, the Protectors subsequently became defunct.[citation needed]
Refoundation
On December 14th, 2013, M88youngling and several others reformed the Union with the ratification of the Union Constitution and thus reestablished the Protectors. He also became the Union's president, which made him leader of the Protectors. According to the Constitution, each Protector had a title and a particular responsibility associated with it. These were,[2]

M88youngling appointed many different Protectors between refoundation and the Union's collapse in 2016.
2017 Reformation
On October 14th, 2017, Huntsman007 was elected president of the reformed LBP Union, defeating Nickalis02 and ShinigamiPhantom. Nickalis was appointed as vice president, M88youngling as minister of intelligence, and Dethklokrulez12 as the minister of defense. Nickalis was eventually removed from office on grounds that he orchestrated a spam attack on the Union's Discord server.[citation needed]
After the Union's government shut down on April 4th, 2018, the Protectors ceased to act as an executive organization. They now act as an interest group advocating for Union ideals and manage the Union's Discord server community.
